Rehoboth Congregational Church 300th Anniversary November News

Posted

As the Rehoboth Congregational Church 300th Anniversary year of celebration and commemoration approaches the founding day anniversary on November 29th, 2021 we have much to be thankful for. We appreciate those in the church and community who honored and celebrated with us. Covid could not stop us but encouraged us to do more outreach into the community with additional missions projects and a mask project.

After service on Sunday November 28th we will have a special cake and a video of the 300th year of remembrances and celebrations.

On Monday November 29th there will be a candlelight service at 6:00 PM to honor the founders whose courage and perseverance established and built a meeting house to worship in the wilderness where they were making their homes. A time capsule will be buried with remembrances of this significant year in our church history.

History Moment
The Rehoboth Congregational Church has remained an integral part of the Rehoboth community for 300 years. In addition to the religious services, church school, vacation bible school, weekly bible study, WKB Women’s Society and other programs are offered. The church has provided scholarships to students, funded a number of missions programs in the local, neighboring and worldwide community. Examples includes fuel assistance, donations to food pantries, distribution of clothing items for those in need as well as providing Mother’s Day baskets, Thanksgiving baskets and a Christmas giving tree. Members have been involved in homeless awareness fund raising, working in and providing food for soup kitchens as well as travel to other states and countries to support ‘sister churches’ and assist in hurricane cleanup. Over the years the church has sponsored families from Cuba, Cambodia and Holland.

For the past 300 years and the next 300 years plus, the church’s values of faith, family and community will be our ongoing legacy.
