Somerset Summer School and Classes from the Kids Summer Learning Program Open to All Area Students

The Somerset Summer School will be offering students who failed one or two classes over the course of the school year, to retake their classes in-person at Somerset Berkley Regional High School. We realize that online/hybrid learning was difficult for many students and at this point some students are frustrated and have given up. We want to encourage our students to keep trying, not to give up, and let us help you. We want you to do better in your schoolwork and to enjoy it more! The Summer School Sessions begins July 1 and runs through August 6. The first class runs 7:30 a.m. through 9:10 a.m. and the second class runs 9:20 a.m. through 11:15 a.m. For registration information, email aguiarw@sbregional.org  or comfreyb@sbregional.org. 

The 2021 Kids Summer Learning Center is offering Creative Writing, taught by Mrs. Lauren Farinha of Joseph Case Junior High School, the week of July 26 - July 30. In this class, students' imaginations will be enhanced while writing their very own creations. They will be able to make up fictional stories, write through zany writing prompts, and create their own ending to a favorite fairy tale. The 2021 Kids Summer Learning Center is offering Summer Band, taught by Mrs. Christina Rasch from the Somerset Public Schools. This class will be offered in two different groups. Summer Band I will be held the week of July 19 - July 23 from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. This group is geared towards students with one to two years of playing experience. Summer Band II will be held the week of July 26 - July 30 from 9:00 a.m. - 11: a.m. This group is geared towards students with three or four years of playing experience. In these classes, students will gather together under COVID-regulations while expanding their music knowledge through new techniques and exploring fun pieces of music! The 2021 Kids Summer Learning Center is offering Patterns and Printing August 2-6 with Ms. Kyla Schmigle from Somerset Berkley Regional High School.. This class will be offered from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. In this class students will get the chance to experiment with several types of printing while discovering repeat patterns. Students will get the opportunity to stamp a usable bag and work with everyday items to make unique prints on greeting cards.
