Angela Rose was awarded the Massachusetts Call Volunteer Fire Association Robert J. Hindley Memorial Scholarship In August. Presenting the check is MCVFA Region 1 Vice-President Chris Hajder. Each year five recipients are chosen by committee and awarded to one from each of the five regions state-wide to students furthering their education at the college level.

Robert J. Hindley was a 29 year member of the Woods Hole Fire Department and a Charter Member of MCVFA. He was one of Woods Hole’s first Emergency Medical Technicians and the first to advance to the level of Paramedic. Bob passed away on January 2, 1992 while still active with his department and MCVFA.

A committee was formed within MCVFA in 1996 and came up with criteria and guidelines for the scholarship. In 1997 at the April State Meeting the final draft was approved and voted upon. The application period is January 1 to May 15 annually.

Angela will be attending Bristol Community College to study psychology and will later attend Bridgewater University to earn a degree in Criminal Psychology.
