Dighton-Rehoboth Continues Search for Business Administrator

Posted

The search for a new Business Administrator for the regional school district will continue after the school committee chose not to appoint Peter Roche. School committee chairman Aaron Morse explained the pool of applicants was miniscule and Roche was the only qualified applicant. “The reason why we had so few candidates interested in applying for the position was because it was reported people were telling applicants to not apply here because of ongoing issues related to the budget and litigation,” Morse said at the June 29 meeting.

The committee did not believe Roche was a good fit for the district. “I couldn’t support someone with very little regional experience,” said member Glenn Jefferson of Roche.

Paul Kitchen, who has served as Business Manager for the Dighton-Rehoboth Regional School District for the last two years, submitted a letter of resignation in May. Kitchen’s last day is July 16.

Dighton-Rehoboth Superintendent Anthony Azar said Tuesday the search would be expanded “into professional groups that exclusively seek out candidates for these positions.”
