“Ballpark Mysteries” author visit, David A Kelly
Tuesday, May 25 at 6:30 PM
Meet and visit with David A Kelly who will talk about his Ballpark Mysteries books, how he became a writer and how kids can become writers, too! Mr Kelly will discuss techniques used in writing the “Ballpark Mysteries” such as setting, character, plot, suspense. He’ll also discuss the writing and editing process and what it takes to be a successful author. After Q & A’s and when the program is over, children will be encouraged to start a story of their own with the notebook and pen they are given. Live via Zoom. There will be a story, finger plays, music and yes, even bubbles! Everyone is invited to wear yellow. Older siblings are always welcome to attend. Storytime on the Go
Throughout May
Create a storytime experience at home with Storytime On the Go packets. Each packet will include 6 books and an age appropriate early literacy activity. So easy...just grab and go! Toddler (suggested up to age 3) books for children who are ready for short stories. Preschool (suggested ages 3 - 5) books that include longer stories. Prefer to select books on your own? We can do that, too! Select 6 books then stop at the desk in the children's room to pick up that week's activity. Packets are available throughout the month of May with new ones added every Tuesday. Look for the display in the Children's Room. The early literacy activity will support one or more of the five early literacy practices: talking, singing, reading, writing and playing.
