Stop into Seekonk Library all month long for special dinosaur displays and activity sheets. Be sure to check out our dinosaur bulletin board and vote for “Who Would Win?”

Children’s Book Week
November 8 - 13
Celebrate Children’s Book Week with special drop-in activities all week. Challenge yourself with children’s Book Trivia. Play “Who is This?” to name famous characters from children’s books. Also stop into the children’s room and pick up a free, illustrated edition of The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan (while supplies last). Happy Children’s Book Week!

Homeschoolers Meet-Up
Tuesday, November 9, 1 - 3 PM
Homeschooling families (kids and adults) are invited to meet-up in the library's large meeting room. The time can be used to gather with friends, meet others, plan homeschool events or to simply socialize. Families can also visit the children's room to browse and select books and pick up information about the state-wide "Letters About Literature" program. In celebration of Children's Book Week, stop at the desk in the children's room and ask for a free copy of the hardcover, illustrated edition of The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan, book #1 in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series (while supplies last).
Drop in. No registration needed.

Sensory Friendly Family Movie
Saturday, November 13, 1 PM
The event will include sensory-friendly features such as lights up, sound down, relaxed rules, and subtitles. Everyone is invited to this all-inclusive, welcoming, movie event. Visit the library’s calendar of events at www.seekonkpl.org  for the exact title of this new dvd release featuring Ryder, Marshall, Rubble, Chase, Rocky, Zuma and Skye. Please feel free to bring your own fidgets, comfort items, and snacks. Social story (with photos) available upon request, email us at childrens@seekonkpl.org  for more details. Made By Me: Pretzel Chicken

Let's make dinner! During this LIVE, 1 hour ZOOM class children ages 8 + will prepare a delicious recipe then serve it to their family for dinner. November's recipe is pretzel chicken with hot honey. The program will be taught by Heather Dupee, chef and owner of Made By Me Cooking School in Warren, RI. Seekonk Library will provide some of the ingredients which need to be picked up in advance. Minecraft Education Edition Club
Monday, November 22, 5:30 PM
Join Ms Sandie (virtually) for a single session build challenge in Minecraft Education Edition. We'll meet via Zoom and join a Minecraft world together to complete a build challenge. This is a ONE session event and registration is required. Your child will need to have a compatible device such as an iPad, laptop, or desktop computer, not a gaming device such as a Switch. Minecraft EDU license will be provided to each child in advance of the program and Minecraft EDU will need to be downloaded and installed prior to the program. Full instructions will be sent. The Zoom link will be emailed to participants 1 hour before the program's start time. Registration required.

STORYTIMES

Seekonk Library storytimes focus on talking, singing, reading, writing and playing- important principles for your child’s reading readiness. Please bring your SAILS library card so your child can browse and select books to take home. Siblings are always welcome.

Babies & Books Turkey Tales
Monday, November 15, 10 AM
Join Miss Sharon for a seasonal storytime with a turkey theme. Includes a book or two followed by music, fingerplays, movement and yes, even bubbles! For November 15, everyone is invited to wear brown, orange or yellow. Registration not required. Drop in.

Turkey Tales for Toddlers & Preschoolers
Wednesday, November 17, 2 PM
Join Miss Sandie for a seasonal storytime suited for children ages 2-5. We'll be reading stories, being silly, and having a great time. Younger siblings are always welcome.
Registration not required. Drop in.

Storytime on the Go
November 8 - 30
Anytime is storytime! Stop in and check out a packet of 6 books to take home. Comes with an accompanying early literacy activity. Assorted themes.
