Spring Sports Update from Martin Middle School 2021

MMS Softball had a tremendous season! The girls won seven out of their 10 games. All games have started and ended with 6th grade standout starter Marianna Piña pitching. She has excellent support with 8th grade Emma Bouisseau catching — they have been a pitching/catching phenom since their undefeated fall season together when girls from all over East Providence teamed up through the Little League and the Recreation Department made a season happen for the girls, which COVID and canceled last spring.

The Wildcat Squad has many first-timers or just second-timers since their fall season that came out for softball. The coaches see the improvement in techniques and sportsmanship as they come together easily to learn armed with a competitive spirit! The team is a great collaborative group of girls who help each other under the direction of veteran softball players coaching the younger players.

Without a doubt the city of East Providence was inspired by these girls and the support and excitement for softball will continue to grow more and more.

A huge shoutout to Coach Robitaille and Coach Penden for all of their hard work and preparation.

MMS Baseball Season 2020-21
The Martin Middle School Wildcats had an impressive 6-4 season. The team was bolstered by 8th grade leadership, as 10 of the 18 players on the roster are representing the grade level. The team was driven by outstanding pitching as Dylan Annicelli, Tyler Dicceco, and Tim Robitaille shined on the mound. At the plate Colin Roche, Will Haggerty, and Dillon Vieira were on fire as well.
