The Narragansett Bay Symphony Community Orchestra, the premier community orchestra in Rhode Island and southern New England, is excited to announce their “in-person” 2021-2022 concert season.

During this past spring small pods of NaBSco musicians rehearsed at the Music Mansion in Providence giving the orchestra members the unique opportunity of playing in small ensembles under the direction of Music Director, Maestro Kristo Kondakçi.

The Opening Concert of the 2021-2022 season will be on Sunday, October 31st at 3PM in the recently renovated McVinney Auditorium in Providence.  The concert will begin with a lively Mexican couples dance “Huapango” by Jose Pablo Moncayo.  Closing the Opening Concert will be Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s epic but mournful Symphony #6 in d minor “The Pathetique”.  The performance of this symphony is in tribute to all that was lost due to the pandemic and as a celebration of our return to live performances.

The second concert of the 2021-2022 season is   Saturday, December 18th at 8PM in St. Peter and Paul’s Cathedral presenting a performance of George Frederick Handel’s “El Mesias”.  Through a collaborative initiative with Rhode Island Latino Arts Handel’s famous and well loved “Messiah Part I, including the “hallelujah Chorus will be performed in Spanish.

NaBSco’s concert season continues in the New Year 2022.  Mark your calendars with the following dates:  March 6, 2022 at 3PM at St. Peter’s by the Sea in Narragansett, RI; April 10, 2022 at 3PM a concert of chamber music at St. Columba’s Parish Hall in Middletown, RI; and NaBSco’s  season finale on May 22, 2022 at 3PM at McVinney Auditorium in Providence, RI.
