Empowerment Factory Opens Annual Meeting To Public

Posted

Pawtucket, RI – October 23, 2023 – The Empowerment Factory (TEF), a Rhode Island nonprofit dedicated to helping children develop skills to lead happier, healthier, more empowered lives, is inviting Rhode Islanders to its Annual Meeting to celebrate its success in supporting at-risk students.

The Annual Meeting will be held at TEF’s location in Pawtucket, the Hope Artiste Village on Main Street on December 6, 2023, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The event will include art activities, refreshments, and a 50/50 raffle, followed by a presentation of TEF’s 2023 achievements and recognition of local heroes who have contributed to TEF’s success this year. RSVPs are encouraged at https://TEFannualmeeting2023.eventbrite.com

TEF’s unique approach to supporting at-risk students is achieved through enrichment programming that uses a blend of social emotional learning, art, literacy, and environmental education to engage children in learning. Over the 10 years TEF has been serving its community, it has provided more than 7,000 youth with an opportunity to explore and benefit from a positive learning trajectory.

“I look forward to welcoming our community to TEF’s Annual Meeting where we will join together to celebrate the success of our collaborations in empowering Rhode Island youth to understand that they are capable of reaching for their dreams and living happy and successful lives,” said Gail Ahlers, founder and Executive Director of TEF.

Among the program partners that will be honored are teachers from the Fallon Memorial Elementary School in Pawtucket who implemented TEF’s innovative Reading Adventures: Growing Friendship program. This initiative focuses on building first and second graders‘ social emotional skills to prepare them for future academic success and teach them how to create and maintain positive relationships with their peers.

TEF will also recognize several individuals, including:
• Young Artist of the Year who will be recognized for their engagement and participation in the Art in the Park and Nature Drawing programs.
• Volunteer of the Year for their support and contribution to TEF’s mission.
• Youth Ambassador of the Year for their dependability and proactiveness in advancing their real-world experience to benefit other TEF participants.
• Corporate sponsors for their dedication to our children’s education and social-emotional wellbeing.

“As a small non-profit, we are nimble,” Ahlers said, “TEF is uniquely positioned to be nimble and responsive to the needs of our community. The Empowerment Factory has been extraordinarily successful in serving our constituents' needs because of this ability. I look forward to our Annual Meeting where we can come together to recognize these successes and to acknowledge the key role our collaborators play in our success.”
