Gerald T. Hogan, 96, of East Providence, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at his home. He was the husband of the late Mary A. (Gallucci) Hogan.

Born and raised in Ottawa, Canada, Gerry came to the U.S. as a young man at the age of 19. He was the son of the late Thomas and Lena (Montagano) Hogan. Gerry was the Vice President of Sales for Alpha Chemical Company, retiring after 30 years of service to the company. He also was a consultant for Dairy Food Industries.

Passionate about golf, Gerry was a lifelong avid golfer holding previous memberships at Sun Valley, Rehoboth, and Fall River Country Clubs. True to his skill, Gerry once scored a hole-in-one on the 195-yard 16th hole at Rehoboth Country Club. Known for his quick wit and vast memory, Gerry was oftentimes artful in his ability to write and craft meaningful greeting cards and thoughtful expressive notes to family members celebrating birthdays, events, or in thanks to those who were kind and generous towards him. In his later years, Gerry could always be counted on to watch and track his favorite PGA players on sports channels and to follow his second sports passion, NFL football, especially the New England Patriots. But mostly, Gerry loved and enjoyed his family.

He leaves four children, Glen T. Hogan (Ret. Captain EPPD) and his wife Andrea (Estrella), Paula J. Hogan, Brenda C. Hogan and Terri L. Hogan; seven grandchildren, Shannon Walker, Neil McQuiggan, Lauren DelSignore, Carmen Hogan, Ross Hogan( Captain USMC), Samantha Hogan, and Austin Hogan(Ensign USN); three great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Patricia Gibson, Beverly Mindach, Velma, Edward, Donald, Albert and Martin Hogan.

His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 12:00 PM in the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours Monday 4-7.
