James A. Warner, Jr., 95, of Newman Avenue, a retired Teamster Local #251 passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. He was the husband of Rose M. (Santos) Warner and the late Rose (Silva) Warner. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late James A. Warner, Sr. and Elsie H. (Stafford) Warner. Mr. Warner was retired after forty-three years from the W.J. Halloran, Monahan Transportation and ABF Freight. He was a member of the Cathedral of St. John, past member of the vestry and an usher for over forty years. Mr. Warner was a member for over fifty years and oldest past Master of Celestial Lodge #2 PHA Masons and past Grand Senior Warden and 32-degree Mason of Mt. Sinia Consigtory#12. He was a member and the oldest past Potentate of Constantine Temple #14 AEAONMS, past Imperial Deputy of the Desert PHA and past President of Providence Lambskin Club. He was a member of Tall Cedars of Lebanon and a former member and past Paton of Queen of Sheba #1 OES PHA. He was a member and past Noble Grand of Manchester Unity English Order IOOF and a member and Past Noble Grand of Comonicus Lodge IOOF. Mr. Warner was a member and past Captain of Canton Providence #1 and a member and Past Chief Patriarch of Wampanoag Encampment #23 IOOF. He was an associate member and past Noble Grand of Granite Lodge # 33, associate member of United Brothers Lodge and an associate member and past Noble Grand of Good Samaritan Lodge # 8, Pawtucket, Rhode Island. He was also a member of Rebekah #22 IOFF, a former member of East Providence Council for the elderly, a member of Masonic Veterans Association of Rhode Island and a member of Sword of Bunker Hill and a member of IBA. Besides his wife he leaves one son, J. Dennis Warner of Seekonk, three granddaughters and several great grandchildren. He was the father of the late Florence Warner. Funeral services will be private.
