Maria L. (Pimentel) Camelo, 76, of East Providence, passed away peacefully at her home on July 18, 2023. Born in Sao Miguel, Azores on May 10, 1947, she was the beloved daughter of the late Ernesto and Maria daGloria (Andrade) Pimentel. Maria was a loving and devoted wife to the late Urbano S. Camelo, who was her partner in life and her best friend.

Maria was a woman of deep faith, a trait that was evident in her active involvement in her church. As a dedicated parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Church for many years, she was always eager to lend a hand where needed. Maria's selfless spirit and dedication to her faith made her an inspiration to all who knew her.

She was a loving sister to Maria DeLima of East Providence and Maria Madelina Bolarinho of East Providence. Maria's nurturing nature extended to her role as an aunt and a great aunt. She was a mentor, friend, and confidant to Grace DeLima of Rumford, and Catarina DeLima of New Hampshire. She was also a cherished great aunt to Jason DeLima of Rumford, Michelle Arruda of East Providence, and a doting great great aunt to Kaden DeLima and Katia DeLima, both of Rumford.

Maria was a beacon of love and faith to her family. She was known for her kindness, generosity, and her unwavering faith. Her selfless nature and caring heart made her a pillar of strength within her family and her community. Her absence will be deeply felt by those lucky enough to have known her.

Maria's life was a testament to her faith and love for her family. She was a woman of grace, who faced life's challenges with courage and determination. Her life was a testament to her strong faith and the deep love she had for her family and friends.

Maria L. (Pimentel) Camelo will be remembered as a loving sister, aunt, great aunt, and great great aunt. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she loved and those who loved her. Her memory will be cherished and her life celebrated as a woman of faith, love, and selflessness.

Her funeral will be held Saturday July 22,2023 at 8:30am from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 21 Traverse Street, Providence.

Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 550 Wampanoag Trail, East Providence.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are on Saturday MORNING from 8:30am -9:30am at the funeral home.
