Bernadette L. DeRoche, of Rehoboth, passed into eternal rest on October 22, 2023 at the Country Gardens Nursing Home, Swansea, MA.

Born in Warren, RI, on December 9, 1928, Bernadette was a loving and compassionate woman who lived her life with kindness and dedication. She was a devout Roman Catholic, who found solace and comfort in her daily prayers. A 1946 graduate of Warren High School, she was a bookkeeper by profession. Bernadette retired in 1988 from Dighton-Rehoboth Regional School District as a payroll and benefits clerk. She was a Charter Member of Rehoboth Anawan Lions, serving as President and Secretary and was recipient of the Lions International Melvin Jones Fellow Award for exemplary service to the Rehoboth Anawan Lions Club and her community. Bernadette was an avid fan of the Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins, Celtics, and PGA tours, and a passionate knitter who spent her summers camping on Squam Lake in New Hampshire. Her love for her family was evident in her attendance at many of her grandchildren's sporting events, and her passion for hosting open house on Christmas Eve was a special DeRoche tradition. Bernadette was known for her awesome pies especially her homemade apple pies.

Bernadette is survived by her daughters, Kathleen (David) Medeiros of Plainville MA, Linda (Barry) Duffin of Santa Ana CA, Tricia (late Stephen) Jacques of Attleboro MA; her sons Robert DeRoche (Sandra Corry) of Glocester RI, Raymond DeRoche II of Anson ME and Paul (Karen) DeRoche of Rehoboth MA; her grandchildren, Michael (Allison) Medeiros, Jonathan Medeiros, Andrew (Jill) Medeiros, Joseph (Madison) DeRoche-Duffin, Zachary Roakes, Ryan DeRoche, Jaycob DeRoche, Heather (Matthew) Cabral, Brittany DeRoche, Taylor (Austin) DeRoche, Daniel DeRoche and Brady DeRoche; her great granddaughters, Bryleigh Roakes, Ayda Medeiros, Ella Medeiros and Lainey Lyons; she also leaves her sister, Doris Medici of Warren RI.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph DeRoche; parents, Oliver and Florence Rene, and her sister, Joan Jannitto.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation from 4 - 7 p.m. on Monday, November 6, 2023, at the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at St. John the Evangelist Church, 133 North Main Street, Attleboro, MA. Burial will follow at St. Stephen's Cemetery, 683 South Main Street, Attleboro, MA.
