The Taunton Civic Chorus Begins Rehearsals for Its Spring Concert

The Taunton Civic Chorus will begin open rehearsals for its spring concert on Thursday, January 11th, 2024. The rehearsals will be held each Thursday evening from 7 - 9pm at Berkley Congregational Church, 13 South Main St., Berkley. No auditions are necessary and all voices are welcome. The open rehearsals will run until February 1st.

The spring concert is entitled Dreams and will feature such tunes as “California Dreamin’”, “The Impossible Dream”, “A Million Dreams”, “Dream a Little Dream of Me”, and “Sweet Dreams”, plus, highlights from Mama Mia.

This year, the Taunton Civic Chorus celebrates its 65th Birthday. It was in 1959 that the chorus was formed by a group of enthusiastic music lovers. TCC is now the area’s longest running choral group and has been an important part of the cultural life of Taunton.

In addition to presenting an annual spring and holiday concert, TCC performs at local events such as the Liberty and Union Festival, Taunton River Festival, Lights On –Taunton, the Dighton Arts Festival, and most recently, the 2024 City of Taunton Inauguration Ceremony.

Each year, TCC awards a scholarship to a young person entering college who has been involved in the performing arts in high school.
