Adeline (Souto) Redman, 94, of East Providence, was a shining beacon of faith, kindness, and love. Born on April 12, 1929, in Seekonk, MA, she departed for her heavenly abode on July 21, 2023, at Miriam Hospital, Providence RI. Adeline's legacy is a testament to a life lived with purpose, devotion, and an unwavering commitment to her loved ones.

Adeline was the embodiment of enduring love, epitomized by her lifelong partnership with her late husband, George Redman. She was the cherished daughter of the late John and Adeline (Oliveira) Souto Sr., and the beloved sister of the late Mary Adamo, Edna Craveiro, John Souto Jr., Manuel Souto, and Charles Souto.

Adeline's life was enriched by the joy of motherhood. She was the proud mother of Paul Redman Sr. and his wife Loren, and Mary Redman, both of East Providence. Her love for her family continued to grow as she embraced her role as a grandmother to Paul Redman Jr. and his wife Shalini, Michael Redman of Warren, and Jeffrey Redman of East Providence. The arrival of her great-grandchildren, Lillianna, Avi, and Stella Redman, added a new dimension of love and joy to her life.

Adeline's professional life was characterized by her commitment and dedication. She served as an Assistant Store Manager at the Burlington Coat Factory for many years, having previously worked as a salesclerk at the former Outlet Company. Her work ethic and commitment were an inspiration to her colleagues and friends alike.

Adeline was a woman of deep faith. A devout Catholic, she was an active parishioner of Sacred Heart Church, participating wholeheartedly in all church activities. Her daily devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary was a testament to her unwavering faith, which guided her throughout her life.

Beyond her professional commitments and religious devotion, Adeline was an avid reader and an eager traveler. She found joy in the exploration of new places and the discovery of new ideas through the pages of a book. A fierce competitor, she enjoyed challenging her mind with Scrabble and online word games. She also found great pleasure in watching and competing with game shows, as well as watching classic TV shows and movies., and playing bingo, playing Canasta, High Low Jack, and Rummy

Yet, amidst all her interests and activities, Adeline's favorite role was that of a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her love for her family was her driving force, her greatest joy, and her proudest accomplishment.

Adeline (Souto) Redman was a woman of remarkable strength, unshakeable faith, and boundless love. Her life serves as a powerful reminder of the impact one person can have through a life lived with purpose, love, and devotion. Today, as we remember Adeline, let us celebrate her life, cherish her memory, and strive to emulate her values. Let her life be a beacon that guides us towards love, kindness, and faith.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday July 26,2023 at 8:30am from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Sacred Heart Church, 118 Taunton Avenue, East Providence.

Burial will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, RI.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 4:00pm – 7:00pm in the funeral home.
