Norma “Laurie” Ryan

Norma “Laurie” Ryan, 84, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2023.

She was the wife of Laurence E. Ryan, Jr. to whom she was married for 62 years.

Born in Framingham, MA, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Margaret (Pickering) Anderson.

Mrs. Ryan was an office manager for an accounting firm for many years before retiring. She was a 1956 graduate of East Providence High School. She was the church clerk for Hope Congregational Church as well as a Sunday school teacher. Mrs. Ryan was a motorcycle enthusiast and was a member of the BMW Motorcycle Club. She enjoyed traveling and camping with her husband and family.

Besides her husband she leaves one daughter, Deborah Taylor of East Providence, four grandchildren, Angie Ryan, Laurence Ryan, IV, Matthew Taylor and Christopher Taylor, three great grandchildren, Brianna Ruffner, Brooke Taylor and Oliver Ryan Taylor, two sisters, Ruth Munroe and Robin Reed, one brother, John Anderson and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Laurence E. “Larry” Ryan, III and sister of the late Alice Wilson.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at 9:00 AM from the PERRY-MCSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a service to follow at 10:00 AM in Hope Congregational Church, 120 Wampanoag Trail, East Providence. Burial will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours Friday, 5-8.
