Henrietta Arlene (Amaral) Giragosian, known affectionately to friends and family as "Cookie," passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025, at R.I. Hospital in Providence, RI. Born on July 8, 1942, in Providence, RI, Cookie lived a life marked by love, kindness, and passion. She was the cherished wife of the late Peter D. Giragosian, Sr., and a nurturing mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose presence enriched the lives of all who knew her.
Cookie was a devoted mother to Peter D. Giragosian, Jr. of Brownville, ME, Lisa Giragosian of Rumford, RI, Mary Rourke and her husband James of Riverside, and the late Todd Giragosian. Her love and guidance were the cornerstones of her family. She was the proud grandmother of Tanya and Jessica Giragosian, Michelle Sheehan, Shelby McAllian, Hunter, and Hailey Rourke, and the adored great-grandmother of Alex, Tyler, Sydney, Bella Ann, and Zachary. She embraced every moment with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, imparting wisdom and creating cherished memories that will live on forever.
She was surrounded by the love of her siblings, Stephen Amaral, Roy Amaral, and predeceased by Edward Amaral, David Amaral, and Jo-Ann Johnson. Cookie's warmth and generosity also extended to her many nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly.
In her professional life, Cookie dedicated over ten years as a Med-tech and a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Willows assisted living in Warren. Her compassionate nature and caring hands brought comfort and support to countless individuals and their families during her tenure.
A lifelong resident of East Providence, she was a parishioner of St. Luke's Church. Her faith was a source of strength and inspiration, and she lived her beliefs through her actions every day.
Cookie had a zest for life that was evident in her many interests. She was an enthusiastic bingo player, a hobby that brought her much joy and a community of friends. An avid bird watcher, she found peace in the simple pleasure of observing nature. Her love for cooking was only matched by the delicious meals she prepared, which brought her family together around the table. Fishing was more than a pastime for Cookie; it was an opportunity to immerse herself in the serenity of the outdoors and the thrill of the catch.
Above all, Cookie's greatest joy was spending time with her family. Her home was a haven of love and laughter, where every member felt valued and cherished. Her love was unconditional, her advice was sought after, and her kindness was felt by all.
