Manuel (Manny) A. Correia, Jr., 73, of East Providence, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2025, at Rhode Island Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Filomena (Furtado) Correia for 47 wonderful years.

Born in Fall River, MA, Manny was the son of the late Manuel and Emily (Horton) Correia. A proud graduate of La Salle Academy (1969), Manny continued his education at Rhode Island College (1973), where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Economics.

While at Rhode Island College, Manny also played baseball, further fueling his lifelong passion for the sport. His time on the field shaped his love for the game, and he carried that enthusiasm throughout his life, whether he was playing, watching, or coaching.

Manny was a beloved coach in the Riverside Little League, where he shared his love for baseball and his boundless energy with countless young players over the years.

But it wasn’t just baseball that filled Manny’s heart. Manny’s true joy came from the time spent with his family. He was a loving father to Dwayne Correia, Brenda Zlogar (Jason), and Allen Correia (Victoria). As a proud Vovô to his beloved grandson, Nico Correia, Manny’s face would light up with joy every time they were together. His excitement to be a grandfather was immeasurable, and he cherished each moment with Nico.

Manny also had a special place in his heart for animals, especially cocker spaniels. He always had one by his side, and his most recent companion, Cub, brought him an immense amount of comfort and happiness.

In addition to his wife, children, and grandson, Manny is survived by many loving extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly. He is predeceased by his parents and his sister, Kathleen Correia.

Manny will be remembered for his warmth, his infectious laughter, and his unwavering love for his family. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Visiting hours will be held at Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol on Tuesday, March 19, 2025 from 4:00PM – 7:00PM. His funeral will begin from Sansone Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at 10:00AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood Street, Bristol at 11:00AM. He will be laid to rest at North Burial Ground, Hope Street, Bristol.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the American Heart Association in Manny’s memory.
