Remembering our Veterans this Memorial Day

Posted

Memorial Day is a time to remember the passing of our family, loved ones, and friends. Those we remember may have served in the military. We may decorate their graves with flowers and flags. Or read honor rolls of names etched on memorial stones and plaques. The virtual E. Prov. Veterans' Military Service Honor Roll was updated to 56 pages in March 2025. It has names of residents remembered and honored via the naming (in 1961) of Route 195 as the E. Prov. Veterans' Memorial Expressway (EPVME).

Google "epvmer2021" or https://sites.google.com/view/epvmer2021,  then choose the EP Military Service Honor Roll tab, and scroll down to see the pdf file of names, summaries, and photos.

Review the names and chances are you will find someone you know who served our country. Names include those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, returned home but died later, are still alive, and those still serving actively or in the reserves. Feel free to submit the names of your family's military members, make updates, and send corrections of the Honor Roll to epvme@hotmail.com.  Let us remember the sacrifices and efforts of our veterans, current military members, and their families to serve the United States of America.
