Angelcat Haven Introduces On-Site Reuse and Recycle Bin to Fund Local Cat Care

Angelcat Haven Feline Rescue has officially launched a new on-site reuse and recycle collection bin on the property of 36 Bacon Square, Plainville, MA. This permanent fixture aims to turn household clutter into critical funding, with 100% of the proceeds directly covering medical care, food, and shelter for stray and abandoned cats currently in the organization's care.

The all-volunteer, foster-based 501(c)(3) non-profit is partnering with a textile recycling company that pays Angelcat Haven by the pound for all accepted soft goods. This sustainable fundraising initiative gives local residents a convenient way to declutter their homes while making a lifesaving impact on the local feline community.

The bin accepts all your resellable clothing, but it also now serves a critical role for items you might previously have thrown away. In accordance with MassDEP waste regulations, ripped, torn, and stained textiles are officially banned from the trash in Massachusetts. You can pack all of those damaged fabrics right into our bin to ensure they are properly repurposed or recycled. However, please do NOT leave any other non-fabric items outside of the bin. Doing so forces the rescue to pay disposal fees out of pocket.

Acceptable Items for Donation
The new collection bin is strictly for soft goods. All items should be placed in tied plastic bags before being deposited. Angelcat Haven is accepting:
● Clothing and coats (all sizes)
● Shoes and boots
● Bedding, linens, and towels
● Accessories (hats, belts, pocketbooks)
● For Full List, check out https://www.baystatetextiles.com/what-we-do-dont-accept/

Please note: Household trash, furniture, cushions with foam, electronics, and toys cannot be accepted in this bin.

Turning Recycling Into Lifesaving Care
"As an all-volunteer rescue, managing the rising costs of veterinary care, vaccinations, and daily supplies for our cats and kittens is an ongoing challenge," said a representative from Angelcat Haven. "This reuse-recycle bin allows our community to support our mission without spending a dime. Every bag of gently used clothes or linens donated directly translates to a full food bowl or a necessary vet visit for a rescue cat waiting for its forever home."

The bin is accessible to the public 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in the designated parking area at 36 Bacon Square. Supporters can also learn about alternate ways to give, such as donating pre-sorted cans to their ongoing account at the Mansfield Redemption Center, checking out their Chewy Wish List, or becoming a monthly supporter through PayPal.
