MassDOT Bridge Work Over the Palmer River

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) will begin overnight bridge preservation work on Route 44 (Winthrop Street) over the Palmer River in Rehoboth starting Monday, July 6, 2026. Work is scheduled to continue to take place Sunday through Thursday nights from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. and is expected to continue through August 31, 2026.

During construction, one-way alternating traffic will be in effect on Route 44, with police details on-site to assist with traffic control and ensure the safety of motorists and workers.

Motorists are encouraged to plan for potential delays, reduce speed in the work zone, and follow all posted signs and directions from traffic control personnel.
