Police Chief Enos to Earn $146,000 Annual Salary

Posted

Seekonk Police Chief David Enos is being paid $146,000 for the first year of his employment with the town.

Enos’ salary will increase to $148, 920 for the second year and $151, 898 for the third year, which ends on January 31, 2026, according to the contract he signed with the town.

Enos, who joined the department in 2003, was appointed by the Board of Selectmen in February following the termination of former Chief Dean Isabella. Isabella, who had a year remaining on his contract, filed a lawsuit against the town and the selectmen for breach of contract.

Prior to Isabella’s termination, Town Administrator Shawn Cadime explained the police department needed to undergo a “directional shift.”

Regarding performance evaluation, the contract states the Board of Selectmen through the Town Administrator “shall evaluate and review the Chief of Police at the start of each fiscal year for the previous year, with a copy placed in the Chief’s personnel file. Said review and evaluation shall be based on the goals and objectives developed jointly by the Town Administrator and the Chief of Police.”

“I am lucky to be able to continue to contribute to an organization with such a rich history,” Enos said during his installation ceremony in April. “An opportunity to build off its strong foundation and leave this department a better organization like so many Chiefs before me. There have been many challenges over the past several years and members of this department have always maintained their commitment to serve and protect our community.”
