Congregation Agudas Achim Celebrating the High Holy Days

Posted

Congregation Agudas Achim, 901 North Main Street, Attleboro, will offer services for the High Holy Days, from Rosh Hashanah (Jewish New Year) through the end of Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement).

The holidays this year will begin on the evening of Friday, September 15, and conclude on Monday, September 25. Contact the synagogue office or visit the website at agudasma.org for a full schedule of services.

Rabbi Talya Weisbard Shalem will be leading services for the congregation, and she warmly invites visitors to get to know the community. Her goal is “to offer services that will provide something meaningful for each attendee, from those who love music, to those looking for spiritual depth, to those who are more humanist or atheist and looking for cultural and communal connections. All are welcome.” She will be joined by Rabbi Ezra D. Weinberg, who will serve as the congregation’s cantor (song leader). A member of the congregation, Dr. Janet Encarnacion, will lead the congregation’s choir.

In keeping with tradition, the synagogue will hold its annual memorial service at the 115 year-old cemetery in Dodgeville, at 1 p.m. on Sunday, September 10, at which time the congregation will remember the names of congregants and family members who have died and recite memorial prayers on their behalf.
