"Earth and Water", the November Show at DeBlois Gallery will open on Saturday, November 5, with a reception from 1-7 PM. All are invited to view the show. Refreshments will be served.

DeBlois Gallery presents: "Earth and Water", a show filled with color and joy! The exhibit features the watercolors of Sherri Snyder, who states "with so much chaos, pain and conflict in the world, I seek the quiet, moments of peace. A leaf, a flower, every shadow tells a story. Watercolor paints allow the flow of colors to collide and form unique patterns as I turn the paper. Like a child seeing things for the first time, I am in awe." The featured sculptor, Laura White Carpenter has been recognized for her creative 3 D work in a variety of materials from clay to metal. Her "art path began as a painter of abstracted environments and my focus has transitioned to conceptual sculpture, which continues this theme of nature and speaks to relationships between humans and our earth." Born and raised in Portsmouth, R.I. artist Rita Honnen's series exhibited here is a " combination of mixed media and acrylic painting. It began with the love of the wonderful colors and shapes of the many flowers in my grandfather's gardens!" This wonderful show is complete with the exquisite paintings of Francis Topping, whose "lifelong interests in natural history and art have culminated in paintings and illustrations reflecting a natural theme. I want people to find a personal connection with nature and help preserve it whilst enjoying my art."

The show continues at the gallery on 134 Aquidneck Ave. in Middletown through November 27. Hours are 1-5 PM, Wednesday through Sunday.
