Gene R. Baasch

Gene R. Baasch, 82, of Seekonk passed on Saturday, October 26, 2019. He was the husband of Elaine M. (Silva) Baasch to whom he was married for 60 years. Born in Buffalo, North Dakota, he was a son of the late Albert and Maxine (Lorenson) Baasch.

Mr. Baasch was a Navy Veteran. He was the owner and operator of G. Baasch Inc. before retiring.

Besides his wife he leaves two sons, Paul R. Baasch and Shawn A. Baasch both of Rehoboth, four grandchildren, Samantha Baasch, Gene Joel Baasch, John and Anthony Gilson, one sister, Penny Balderson and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Mark J. Baasch and brother of the late Vaughn and Jan Baasch.

His funeral will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 9:00 AM from The Perry-McStay Funeral Home, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Saint Martha’s Church, Pawtucket Avenue. Burial with Military Honors, will be held in the Rehoboth Village Cemetery, Rehoboth. Calling hours Friday 5:00 – 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to Disabled American Veterans, 755 Pine Street, Fall River, MA 02720, would be greatly appreciated.
