Joan Marie (Gustafson) Dingley, 92, of Seekonk, MA, recently residing in Smithfield, RI, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 31, 2023 while in hospice. She was the beloved wife of the late Curtis Clark Dingley. Born on March 7, 1931 in Pawtucket, RI, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Pauline (Bessette) Gustafson.

Joan and Curtis adored each other through 70 years of marriage and stood as enduring role models of love and caring for their children and grandchildren. They were deeply loved by numerous family and friends. When not making trips to all corners of New England, they enjoyed many years of breakfast dates, walking, golfing, and cross country skiing. They also made friends with many fellow folk music devotees.

Joan is deeply missed by her loving children, Mark R. Dingley of North Kingstown and his late wife, Diane M. (Gariepy) Dingley; Scott D. Dingley of Narragansett; Ruth D. Lincoln of Cumberland, who is predeceased by Jack Lincoln and Andre Gousie; Robert E. Dingley and his wife, Mary (Blanchette) Dingley, of Smithfield; and the late Lynne A. Dingley. She was the proud and cherished grandmother of five grandsons, five granddaughters, and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Bliss of Brewster, MA, and brother, Paul Gustafson of Florida, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend Visitation on Friday, September 22, 2023, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA, 02763.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 10:00 am at the St. Jude Church, 301 Front Street, Lincoln, RI. Burial will be held privately at a later date.
