Born in Providence, Lillian was the daughter of the late Francesco and Giulia (Voccio) Cotrone. She moved to Seekonk, Massachusetts at age three.

As a young woman, Lillian, along with many women of the era, supported the war effort during WWII by working at Builders Iron Foundry in Providence. After the war she married Tony and upon completing his military service in Korea, they began their family.

While raising her children, Lillian actively volunteered in the Seekonk Community. Lillian was a collector of people, she was a beloved supporter and confidant of many. She loved children, music, art and was known as a quintessential chef of Italian cuisine. Her kitchen was a hub of activity, full of good food, lively conversation and song.
