Mary L. Amaral
Mary L. Amaral, 97, of Seekonk, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at the Hattie Ide Chaffee Home. She was the wife of the late Joseph Amaral.
Born in East Providence, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Maria (Paiva) Piquette. She had been a resident of Seekonk for the last 72 years. Mrs. Amaral worked at Cherry & Webb in East Providence for 25 years before she retired in 2000 and was also a volunteer in the soup kitchen at Matthewson Street Church. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Seekonk for many years.
She leaves two children, David Amaral of East Providence and Nancy Bardsley and her husband Alan of Seekonk and several loving nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Virginia Hawksley, Manuel Piquette, Anthony Piquette and George Piquette.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 984 Taunton Avenue, Seekonk. Burial will be in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery. At Mary's request calling hours have been respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers contributions to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, C/O Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, PO Box 519, Seekonk, MA 02771 would be deeply appreciated.
