Southeastern Massachusetts Festival Chorus SMFC Holds Open Rehearsals for Go Tell It on the Mountain!

Posted

The SMFC began with a simple idea; uniting people who share two common interests – a love for music and a desire to perform in a pleasant, relaxing atmosphere. We invite new singers to share this journey with us by attending open rehearsals and learning more about SMFC.

Our Holiday 2023 concert is titled Go, Tell it On the Mountain. The program will highlight Christmas spirituals – from the sublime “Mary, Did You Know?” to the explosive “Jesus, What a Wonderful Child” – and an assortment of traditional Christmas Carols re-imagined into contemporary arrangements with a distinctly American feel. Carols include “Angels We Have Heard On High”, “Little Town of Bethlehem” and “Cool Silent Night”. SMFC Bronze and a 30 piece live-orchestra will accompany the 90+ members of SMFC. Concerts are scheduled for December 9 and 10, 2023.

New singers are invited to attend our next open rehearsals on Monday, August 21st and 28th, 2023 to sing with us and learn more about becoming a member. A brief, informal audition will take place following each of these rehearsals. We are accepting singers in the following sections only: First Soprano, Alto 2, Tenor, Bass. Weekly rehearsals are held each Monday, 7 PM to 9 PM, at First Congregational (Stone) Church, 785 South Main Street, Raynham. For more information, please email admin@smfconline.org
