New Rehoboth Fire Chief Appointed

Posted

Peter Graves was appointed to serve as the new Rehoboth Fire Chief at Monday’s Board of Selectmen meeting.

Graves, the Captain of North Station, replaces Mark Haskell, who was terminated by the board on April 21.The reason cited was a dispute over a solar farm project located next to Haskell’s home.

Haskell had previously served as Assistant Fire Chief. Last October, Haskell replaced Chief Frank Barresi, who retired after serving in the department for 38 years.

“We want to see this department run smoothly,” said Selectman Rob Johnson, who interviewed three candidates for the position.

“I look forward to the future of this fire department,” Graves said.

Baressi was appointed to serve as a consultant for the board and will assist Graves in the operations of the department.
