The Rehoboth Garden Club gathered together in September to begin a new season after the summer break. Our guest speaker was Larry Hindle, owner of Evergreen Tree and Landscaping in Seekonk. Larry’s years of experience and knowledge of new trends and cultivars were very helpful, and he graciously answered all our questions. A sumptuous potluck supper followed the presentation.
Our October 19th meeting will be a field trip to the Providence College Bonoan Lab, where research, teaching, and outreach programs about insect pollinator nutritional and behavioral ecology are ongoing. Dr. Rachel Bonoan will lead us on a tour of the gardens and lab and give us an update on pollinator health.
Future programs include a floral design demonstration by Dennis DelSignore, our annual workshop to make holiday wreaths that we donate to beautify the civic buildings of Rehoboth and Seekonk, and so many more interesting and informative topics.
This is the perfect time to join our club! Whether you are a new or seasoned gardener, there are programs you will enjoy. Our members are very welcoming and a great source of information. For membership information please contact Michael Seebeck at michaeljseebeck@gmail.com or 401-787-5206.
