The Seekonk Lions Club is gearing up for our classic car show on Saturday, September 13, 2026. Over the past two months, flyers and posts on local media have generated excitement for the event, which will be held at the Newman YMCA on Taunton Avenue in Seekonk. We have the music lined up with Bodee’s “Circle of Music” professional disc jockeys, and there will be food and drinks to enhance the car show experience.
The Newman YMCA is providing the large parking lot for all the cars on display. There will be plenty of room to view and relax, and we hope for a beautiful day. Kristen Carlson, the new manager at the Newman YMCA, has offered to keep the facility open for tours if anyone is interested in becoming a member. Restrooms will also be available for your convenience.
The trophies for the event have just arrived, and they are beautiful. To ensure a fair review of all entries, a team of “mystery” judges—comprising experienced critics of the sport and car enthusiasts—will be on hand to provide a fair assessment of the inaugural champions.
Remember, this event is all for charity. Proceeds will go directly to the Doorways Seekonk Food Pantry. Representatives from Doorways will be there to collect non-perishable food items, which will directly support our neighbors in need.
Entry is just $20 per car, or $10 if you bring a non-perishable food item. Families are welcome to join for $10, or just $5 with a food donation.
Prizes will be awarded for the Best in Show (pre-1660 vehicles) and the Best Truck (post-1960 vehicles). If you have old glasses to donate, we’d love to help someone see clearly so bring them along with you.
Whether you bring your vintage ride or simply come to enjoy the atmosphere, there’s something for everyone. The rain date is September 20th.
Come be part of our inaugural event! Show off your ride, enjoy great music, and support a wonderful cause right here in Seekonk. We look forward to seeing you there!
