October has arrived in Rehoboth, bringing cooler mornings, changing leaves, and before we know it, streets filled with little ghosts, witches, superheroes, and all manner of costumed characters going door to door for Halloween. As we enjoy this wonderful time of year, please remember to take a little extra care when driving on Halloween night. Our youngest neighbors will be excited, distracted, and sometimes difficult to see—so slow down, stay alert, and help make sure everyone gets home safely with their treasures.
This October also marks a new chapter for the Rehoboth Food Pantry.
Before looking ahead, I want to take a moment to recognize and thank our outgoing President, Bob Brawley, for his leadership and dedication to the Pantry. Organizations like ours depend upon people willing to give not only their time, but also their energy, judgment, and heart to serving others. Bob has done exactly that, helping guide the Pantry and supporting its mission of being there for our neighbors when they need us. I am personally grateful for his service and for all he has done to leave the Pantry ready for the next chapter.
I am honored to follow Bob as President, and I look forward to carrying that spirit of service forward alongside our Board, volunteers, donors, and the entire Rehoboth community. There is much to look forward to, but one thing will not change: the Rehoboth Food Pantry will continue to be a place where neighbors help neighbors, with kindness, dignity, and compassion.
Our Community Continues to Give
Once again, we have many people to thank for helping keep our shelves stocked.
Our Lady of Mt. Carmel – St. Vincent de Paul Society continues its monthly support with a donation of food supplies. Their ongoing generosity means a great deal to the Pantry and to the families we serve.
Rehoboth Congregational Church has once again supported the Pantry with food donations, continuing its wonderful commitment to our community.
We are also deeply grateful to West Dighton Christian Church for its generous food donations and continued support.
We would be remiss if we didn't express our constant gratitude to the Reporter Team! Thank you for helping get the word out!
And throughout Rehoboth, our community Food Drop-Off Locations continue to collect donations from neighbors who quietly add an extra item or two to their shopping and make sure it finds its way to our shelves. Those individual acts of generosity add up to something remarkable.
A Very Special Thank You to our Food Donation Drop-Off Locations.

And to Our Volunteers…
There simply would not be a Rehoboth Food Pantry without you.
Our volunteers collect donations, sort and date food, stock shelves, prepare the Pantry, help our neighbors, and take care of countless things that most people never see. Week after week, you give your time so that someone else in our community can receive a little help when they need it.
As I begin serving as President, I want our volunteers to know how deeply appreciated you are. The Pantry's work is possible because of you, and I am incredibly grateful to be working alongside you.
The Rehoboth Food Pantry, located at 51 Winthrop Street, is open Thursdays from 2:30–4:30 PM. Food donations may also be brought to our community drop-off locations. Because the Pantry building is not staffed every day, please do not leave donations outside the building.
Next month, we will be holding our Volunteer Meeting, with the date and time to follow. I encourage anyone who would like to become involved with the Rehoboth Food Pantry to consider joining us. And if volunteering during Pantry hours doesn't fit your schedule, we currently have a few open Board positions that offer another way to lend your time and talents to our mission.
There are many ways to help. For those who may not have time to shop or visit a drop-off location, donating online is another simple way to support the Pantry. Every contribution, regardless of size, gives us the flexibility to purchase food and supplies that are running low and helps us continue serving our neighbors throughout the year.

October may bring a change of season—and this year, a change in leadership—but the heart of the Rehoboth Food Pantry remains exactly where it has always been: with this community.
Thank you, Bob, for helping lead the way. Thank you to our volunteers and donors for making the work possible. And thank you, Rehoboth, for continuing to show what can happen when neighbors take care of neighbors.
I am grateful to be part of it, and very much looking forward to what we will accomplish together.
Scott Lacourse,
Incoming President
